Apply for funding

How to present to Northwest Energy Angels

Applicants are strongly encouraged to read the NW Energy Angels funding process and the entrepreneur FAQ’s on this website before proceeding to the online application on the Gust website.

NW Energy Angels’ (NWEA) application process has 4 steps.  NWEA uses Angelsoft to make it easy to apply and to manage our application and deal flow processes.

Step 1: Click on this link

A new browser page will open in the NWEA section of the Angelsoft website.

Step 2: Agree to NWEA legal requirements

By completing and submitting an application, you, your company and all its employees, agents, contractors and advisors are agreeing and acknowledging that:

(a) Northwest Energy Angels members do not sign non-disclosure agreements and that any information and documents you submit to NWEA should be considered a public disclosure;

(b) Northwest Energy Angels members may share any or all of your information with other angel groups for co-investment purposes or 'topping-up' any underfunded investment requirements. Your company will be contacted before the information is shared with other groups and, in most cases, the information will not be shared until some NWEA members have made an offer to invest in your company; and

(c) your company will notify NWEA by email when any investments are made in your company by members of NWEA and/or any investments are made by others as a result of your application to NWEA.

Step 3: Complete the online application

While some fields are optional, we highly recommend you take the time to fill-out all fields to the very best of your ability with descriptions that succintly and accurately convey the essence of your business. This is the single most important document when the screening committee reviews your application, so please take the time needed to make yours compelling.  Your company's success hinges largely on the information you provide in the application form, so do not rely on other documents to make your case.  To support your case, however,  you may upload relevant business plans, marketing plans, detailed financial projections, slide decks and other documents that will help the screening committee and interested members understand your business. Applications with a short video pitch can attract attention and you can record one directly from the application (if you have a webcam enabled computer) or import one into it.

While the Gust application form is pretty straightforward, there is an FAQ section to guide you through the application process. You can access the Angelsoft FAQ’s in the right-hand column of the online application form.

Step 4: Pay the $100 application fee

The NWEA application fee is strictly nonrefundable. Payment can be made with Visa, Mastercard or AmEx. Angelsoft will prompt you for this payment at the end of the online application process.

We look forward to receiving your application.  If you have any questions, please contact us.
